Carbohydrates are an important macronutrient. I am a big advocate for balanced nutrition, however I do realise that not every body functions in the same way. As a scientist, I understand nutrition down to molecular level. Every cell in our body needs protein, carbohydrates and fats to operate properly. Medical conditions such as diabetes, chronic inflammations (IBS), allergies and food intolerances force our cells to change their metabolism. This is where low carb, anti-inflammatory nutrition comes to play an important role in recovery, if not even reversal of the conditions.
